Common questions

What is this score based on?

Ninety9’s product-page rubric — defaults we apply the same way on every public Shopify PDP. It is not a conversion-rate prediction, and it will not fit every store or situation. A miss means this page does not match the rubric; your brand can disagree. How we score.

Do I need a product link?

No. Your store domain is enough — yourstore.com, with or without https://. We pick a bestselling product and check that page. Paste a product URL only if you want that specific product scored.

What does the audit look at?

The product page and the cart, the way a shopper sees them — including after they add to cart. We do not log into your Shopify admin. We cannot see checkout, orders, discounts, or your conversion rate.

Why so few findings?

A 40-item checklist rarely gets done. You get the issues that can stop the sale first, then the ones that keep the basket small — enough to know what to fix today, not a report you never open.

Will it always push a Ninety9 app?

Only when an app is the right fix. Theme work — copy, photos, price, variants — stays on the theme. When an app owns the leak, we name it so you can install the one that matches, not a suite.

Can you check a password-protected store?

Yes. Paste the URL as usual. If visitors need a password to enter, we will ask for that same one — from Online Store → Preferences, not the email you use to log into Shopify. We open the shop for this check, then forget the password. It never goes on the report or the share link. If it is wrong, we ask again.

Can I share the score?

Yes. After a run you get a link and a badge with a QR code. Anyone with the link sees the saved snapshot — it does not re-check the store. Reports stay until the merchant deletes them (see Block this audit). Teams, agencies, and students use it the same way. Download the PDF if someone needs the full punch list behind the number.

Can the score be wrong?

Yes. A popup, age gate, or similar overlay can hide the product and pull the score down. If the screenshots do not look like the page a shopper should see, pause those and run it again. Treat the number as a starting point, not a guarantee.

Can I block this audit?

Yes. After a successful erase you can leave content="no" and drop ,delete. If you cannot edit the theme, email us.

For merchants

Block this audit

In Shopify admin go to Online Store → Themes → Edit code, open layout/theme.liquid, and paste one of these inside <head>. Then paste your shop URL on this page and press Get my free audit — same form, same rate limits. We will not score the product page, open the cart, or take a new screenshot. Password-protected shops: enter the storefront password if we ask; we discard it after the request.

Future runs stop. Saved reports stay until you delete them.

Stop new audits and erase saved reports

We delete stored reports for the host you submit (www is ignored). Anonymous pool stats stay. After it succeeds, leave content="no" and drop ,delete. content="delete" without no is ignored — we will not crawl, write a new report, or erase.

If you cannot edit the theme — for example after a shop is sold — email [email protected]. Remove the tag when you want audits again.
