Key takeaways
- “Get my store reviewed” is a shopping query. Start with a public product-page audit, then buy implementation if the list is clear.
- Freelance developers need a punch list. Agencies need a question the punch list cannot answer.
- Students and operators can generate a shareable snapshot (90 days) without a call.
- Do not buy a review that requires admin before anyone has loaded the PDP as a shopper.
“Get my Shopify store reviewed” is the same intent as review my Shopify store, with more desperation. Traffic is bought. A launch is Friday. Someone promised to “take a look.”
You have four working options. Only one of them is instant.
Option 1 — Public product-page audit (today)
Paste the store into the CRO Audit for Shopify stores.
You get health, a status for the score band (and a line such as Fail in Rubric A beside it), a ranked list, optional screenshots, a PDF, a badge, a ?r= snapshot for about 90 days.
Use this when:
- You need to know if they can buy.
- You need a brief for a developer.
- You need an artefact for class or a founder Slack.
Skip this when the shop is a custom build we cannot open like a normal Shopify shop, or when the merchant opted out. Password-protected stores work too.
Option 2 — A developer with the punch list (this week)
Hire someone who lives in the theme editor.
Give them:
- Product URL.
- Report link.
- “Fix the top constraint. Do not redesign the brand.”
This is the correct purchase when the miss is pickers, ATC, compare-at, size chart, sticky buy, or an app that stole the form.
It is the wrong purchase if you have not produced the punch list and you want them to “just review.” You will pay discovery rates for a paste you could have done.
Option 3 — A CRO / research agency (this quarter)
Buy this when option 1 is mostly green and you still cannot explain revenue.
They should add recordings, tests, IA, checkout, Markets — the out-of-scope list from a public review.
They should not reopen with a homepage moodboard. See DIY vs agency.
Option 4 — A “Shopify expert” marketplace gig
Some are excellent implementers. Some sell a Lighthouse PDF.
Filter:
- Will they work from a URL you paste, on camera, in the theme editor?
- Will they recrawl with you after the fix?
- Do they name theme vs app, or only “install our cousin’s app”?
If the gig title is “I will review your Shopify store” and the deliverable is comments on colours, keep scrolling.
What to send in the first message
Whether it is a freelancer or an agency:
Please review this product: {URL}. Public audit snapshot: {report link}. Top miss looks like {X}. We want you to {fix X / test offers / rebuild}. Checkout and admin are a later phase unless you say you need them this week.
If they reply without opening the link, they are not reviewing the store. They are selling a slot.
Students and internal operators
You do not need option 3 to get your Shopify store reviewed for a course or a weekly ops habit. Option 1 plus a three-line write-up is the professional version of “I had a look.”
Share X / LinkedIn / Discord from the report if you want the badge as the preview. The URL is the proof.
What “reviewed” should mean in writing
A date. A URL. A list with owners. An out-of-scope sentence. A recrawl plan.
If your vendor cannot produce that, they did not review the store. They visited it.
Pricing sanity (so you are not shopping blind)
Free public audit. Minutes. Punch list. Snapshot. This site.
Theme freelancer. Hundreds, not thousands, if the brief is “fix the top constraint on this URL.” More if they have to reverse a custom product-form from 2019.
CRO contractor. Day rates. Buy days after the punch list is green and you have traffic.
Agency programme. Thousands and a calendar. Buy when you need research and tests, not when you need name="add" restored.
If a marketplace gig is $49 for a “full store review,” read the deliverable. If it is comments on fonts, you bought a vibe check.
What a good first reply looks like (vendor)
Loaded {URL} as a shopper. Public audit: {link}. Top miss is {constraint}. I can fix that in the theme this week for {price}. I will recrawl with you on the same handle. Checkout and admin not in this quote.
If their first reply is a Calendly link and a brand questionnaire, they are qualifying a retainer. That is allowed. It is not get your Shopify store reviewed today.
What a good first reply looks like (you)
Here is the product in the ad. Here is the snapshot. We will not grant collaborator access until you tell us which admin screen the PDP cannot show.
You are not being difficult. You are scoping.
Students, operators, side projects
You do not need a vendor. You need a URL, a PDF, and a paragraph that says what you would pay a human for next. That paragraph is how you show you understood the limits of a public review.
Share the report if the assignment allows a public link. Treat it like a public URL. Do not put secrets in the theme.
A hard rule
No collaborator access until there is a reason that a shopper cannot see. Buy-path is visible. Stop giving away admin for a look.
When you are ready for the look that does not need admin, it is a paste.
Frequently asked questions
What is this score based on?
Ninety9’s product-page rubric — defaults we apply the same way on every public Shopify PDP. It is not a conversion-rate prediction, and it will not fit every store or situation. How we score.
How do I get my Shopify store reviewed today?
Paste the domain or product URL into the free CRO audit. Send the report link to whoever will fix the top row. That is a review with an owner.
Who can review my Shopify store professionally?
A theme developer for Liquid and pickers. A CRO contractor for tests. An agency for research and rebuilds. None of them should skip the public PDP.
Are paid “Shopify expert” reviews worth it?
If they implement. A $300 PDF that restates Lighthouse is not. Ask for the first three fixes in the theme editor, not a 20-page brand story.
Can I get a store review for a school project?
Yes. Use the audit, export PDF and badge, cite that checkout was out of scope. Teachers want the ranked fails, not a logo.
What if I want someone to hop on a call?
Fine — after they have the report id. A call without a URL is a chat. A call with a punch list is work.
